Pyxine is a set of Python bindings and an object-oriented wrapper for xine.
Using Pyxine it is possible to write simple (or complex) movie players in the Python programming language.

Have you been wanting to write a video player in Python? (Perhaps for the PVR project you've been toying with?) Pyxine lets you play movies using libxine (http://xinehq.de/) from Python.
It's still very much work in progress, but the demo movie players (included in the distribution) work, at least for me.
